Bruce Warman

Biography
Following school in Edinburgh and Portsmouth, Bruce Warman obtained a degree in Biochemistry at the University of Bristol followed by an MBA at London Business School.

After a brief spell in the insurance industry, in 1972 he joined General Motors Ltd., a manufacturing subsidiary of General Motors. After a number of financial appointments, during which time he qualified as an accountant he then spent two years in Detroit, Michigan as an Organizational Development Consultant. On his return to the UK in 1981, he held a variety of appointments including General Manager of Parts Distribution for GM Ltd, Finance Director of GM Ltd, Assistant Treasurer of Vauxhall Motors Ltd. and Managing Director of Saginaw Steering Gear UK.

He was appointed Director of Personnel for Vauxhall in 1988. He held this position until early 2003, when he took early retirement to pursue a number of other activities. During this time, he was Chairman of the CBI in the East of England, chaired the CBI Employment Relations Panel and CBI HR Directors’ Forum and was a member of the CBI Employment Policy Committee. He was also a member of the ACAS Council, the Learning and Skills Council for Bedfordshire and the Bank of England Printing Works Advisory Board.

He subsequently qualified as an business coach. In addition he has a number of activities in the public sector detailed below. He is also a private equity investor in a motor industry service company..
