Biography

Monojit Chatterji is Bonar Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Dundee in Scotland. He did his schooling in India as well as obtaining his B.A. in Economics and Maths from the University of Bombay. He then came to Christs College at the University of Cambridge from where he obtained a further degree in Economics as well as his Ph.D. His specialist research area is Human Resource Economics and he has published widely in this field. His teaching experience extends back to 1970 and encompasses undergraduate and post graduate teaching in England, Scotland, Australia, India, Mexico and the USA as well as the Civil Service College in London. He is currently Independent Chair of the National Joint Council of UK Fire and Emergency Services and serves as a Lay Member on the Scottish Solicitors' Discipline Tribunal. Formerly he has served on the Advisory Board of The BBC World Service and Global News. He was appointed to the STRB in 2004.
