Mrs Sally Smedley
Biography
BSc Occupational Psychology, (appointed in 2008) runs a consultancy specialising in Executive Coaching and Change Management.
Her career has been focused on Human Resources and Public Relations, mostly in blue chip organisations where she has been HR Director of a number of FTSE 100 and 250 companies primarily in organisations undergoing significant culture change and where she has developed and implemented a number of change programmes.
She is an experienced non executive director in both the Private and Public sectors and has recently been appointed to the board of the Student Loans Company as a non executive director. Prior to that, her most recent NED appointment was with Remploy, where the Board developed a radical new strategy for helping disabled people to obtain open employment.
As an HR Director and as a NED, she has been involved in succession planning, senior appointments and executive compensation for many years, having chaired both Remuneration and Nominations Committees. She joined as a member of DDRB in June 2008.
