Philip Ashmore
Biography
Philip Ashmore has 35 years experience of employee relations, HR and payment systems. He retired in 2006 after 11 years as Human Resources Director for Nissan in Sunderland, Europe’s most productive car plant, he was previously Personnel Director at Alcan’s biggest plant in the U.K. – the aluminium smelter in Northumberland. Philip also worked in the roadstone and electrical wholesaling industries. He has extensive experience of pay bargaining and job evaluation and has worked on various public committees, including CBI’s Employment Policy Committee. Philip was awarded the OBE in 2003.
As well as being a Member of NHSPRB, Philip is Independent Chairman of the School Support Staff Negotiating Body, and is a non-Executive Director of Nexus, the Tyne & Wear Integrated Transport Authority.

My only remuneration is from a pension from Nissan Motor Company, NHSPRB and SSSNB fees and I am a non-Executive Director of Nexus, the Tyne & Wear Integrated Transport Authority. My close family have no relevant interests.
