Professor Anna Vignoles
Biography
Professor Anna Vignoles is a Professor in the Economics of Education at the Institute Of Education. Prior to joining the Institute of Education in 2003, Anna was a Research Fellow at the London School of Economics where she was Deputy Director of the Centre for the Economics of Education. Her research interests include the economic value of education, and specifically the labour market value of basic skills, training, qualifications and different types of curricula. She also researches issues around equity in education and school efficiency, with a particular emphasis on the study of financial and human resourcing in education. Anna has advised numerous government departments, including the department of Business, Innovation and Skills, HM Treasury, and the Departments for Children, Schools and Families and Innovation, Universities and Skills. Recently, she has provided advice to the Browne Review of Higher Education Funding, the House of Commons Education and Skills Committee investigation of higher education funding, the House of Lords Economic Affairs Select Committee and Lord Leitch’s Review of Skills. Anna is an Associate Editor of the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series A.
