Public Sector Senior Remuneration
The Prime Minister has asked the Review Body on Senior Salaries (SSRB) to lead a review of senior remuneration in the public sector, including making recommendations on a pay structure for NDPB chief executives. He has asked for an interim report on principles and methodology in time to inform Budget 2010. After considering that report, the Government may ask SSRB to make further recommendations.
As requested by the Prime Minister, in carrying out this task, SSRB will work with the Chairs of the other public sector pay review bodies and the Chair of the Police Negotiating Board and will also involve someone with experience of local government.
In view of the short time available for the interim report, SSRB will not formally invite submissions from interested parties at this stage, but would be pleased to receive information from anyone who wishes to submit it.
The exercise to produce a pay structure for NDPB chief executives is due to report at the end of July 2010.
