| Senior Salaries Review Body |
SSRB remit group: The standing remit groups comprise about 7,824 individuals: around 2,240 members of the judiciary; 4,353 civil servants; 131 senior officers in the armed forces and around 1,100 Very Senior Managers (VSMs) in the NHS. Around 70 types of judicial post are included, ranging from various tribunal appointments and District Judges to Circuit Judges and High Court Judges up to the Lord Chief Justice and corresponding judicial appointments in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The Senior Civil Service posts comprise those in the United Kingdom Home Civil Service (but not the Northern Ireland Civil Service, the Diplomatic service or some posts in Executive Agencies). The senior officers of the armed forces comprise those at two star and above (Major Generals, Rear Admirals and Air Vice Marshals are known collectively as two star officers and the ranks above them as three and four star officers). |
